Intel Map

EVE Online map: kills, jumps and sovereignty by system

The Intel Map is a free interactive map of New Eden for EVE Online. It shows who holds each system, where ships died recently and how busy the gates are, so a scout, a fleet commander or a corporation leader can check a region before undocking. Every system with sovereignty is tinted by the alliance that owns it, with labels for the largest owners. Heat shows recent kills, and markers flag titan, supercapital, capital and structure kills and kills worth 5B ISK or more.

Zoom from regions to constellations to single systems, search a system by name, and filter by region or constellation. Open a system to read its Intel, Warfare and Industry detail. Active sovereignty campaigns pulse on the map, and a scheduled campaign carries a dashed ring with its start time in UTC. The whole view lives in the URL, so a link shares exactly what you are looking at. No sign-in is needed.

Where the EVE Online map data comes from

The shape and names of New Eden come from the EVE static data export and are drawn from a base map that the page loads once. Sovereignty, owners and the activity defence multiplier come from the ESI sovereignty map, which our worker reads every hour. Kills come from the live zKillboard killmail feed (R2Z2) stored in our database, for the last 24 hours, 7 days or 30 days, with the ISK destroyed. The panel says how long ago the feed was updated and shows «Delayed» when it is more than 15 minutes behind.

Jumps are the hourly system jump counts that ESI publishes, added up over the range you choose. We keep 8 days of them, so the 30-day range shows only the last 8 days and is labelled «Jumps (last 8 days)». The overlay of kills, jumps and sovereignty is cached for 60 seconds.

How the Intel Map reads the numbers

toIntelMapOverlay merges the latest sovereignty snapshot, the kills of each window and the jumps of the range into one overlay indexed by system, and keeps only the systems that have data. A system with no recorded kills is simply not coloured by the heat layer.

When some killmails of a system carry no ISK value, the panel says «at least» the known total and counts the kills without value; if none has a value it says the ISK is unknown. Without a sovereignty snapshot the map shows ownership as unknown, never as unowned. Each figure is a count from the source feed, not an estimate of the fleets involved.

EVE Online map: frequently asked questions

Is the EVE Online map live?

Kills come from a live feed and the overlay refreshes every minute. Sovereignty and jumps follow the hourly ESI reports, so they can be up to an hour behind the game.

Why does the 30-day range show only 8 days of jumps?

Only 8 days of hourly jump reports are stored. The map says so in the panel and in the legend instead of presenting 8 days as thirty.

Can I share what I am looking at?

Yes. The selected system, the filters, the layer and the time range are all part of the URL, so copying the address shares the same view.
